On November 21st, Woodcraft Rangers NVISION program held their culmination ceremony at Berendo Middle School. We provided them with food for 100 people.

Nov 20 2007 >> City Year's Open House in Boyle Heights
|
City Year’s Boyle Heights Chapter held their first Open House at Hollenbeck Elementary School on November 20th. At this open house, parents were given valuable information about City Year’s programs. We provided food for 50. City Year focuses on sending teams to elementary and middle schools to serve as tutors and mentors, coordinate extracurricular activities, and encourage service and leadership opportunities. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, corps members also provide whole class academic support, allowing them to develop relationships and assist more students than those with whom they work individually.

Nov 18 2007 >> Community of the Arts Fundraiser

Community of the Arts Foundation held their concert fundraising event on November 18th. The event was held at Florentine Gardens. The event was attended by several celebrities and city officials. We provided food for the VIP area. The foundation is a private, non-profit organization that provides arts education and literacy enhancement program to disadvantaged inner city children.

Nov 17 2007 >> Union Rescue Mission Thanksgiving Celebration
|
Union Rescue Mission celebrated Thanksgiving by serving over 3,000 homeless men, woman and children during their event on November 17th. We provided food for 200 people.

Nov 17 2007 >> United We Paint Event
|
We partnered up with Hot 92 Jamz’s Community Task Force to help the Vincent Children's Center. On November 17th, the center held “United We Paint Event”. At this event, community members came to help paint the center. We provided food for 100 people. Vincent Children's Center currently serves about 170 children, ages one through eleven. Some of the programs at the center consist of a preschool Special Day Class, preschool Deaf and Hard of Hearing classes, infant Deaf and Hard of Hearing class, preschool Speech and Language Delay/Aphasia classes, and preschool Autistic Spectrum Related Disorder class.

Nov 16 2007 >> Guadalupano Homeless Project Donation
|
|
Proyecto Pastoral's Guadalupe Homeless Project (GHP), has been providing services to homeless men for over 17 years. The people in their service area are primarily Latino immigrants and have difficulty accessing services. GHP provides not only shelter and meals, but also provides continuous services to the clients. On November 16th, we provided food for 60 men at GHP.

|
The East Los Angeles "Classic" is considered one of the oldest (on its 73rd year), and largest high school football rivalries west of the Mississippi and definitely in the state of California. At this game, the long time rivals (Roosevelt High vs. Garfield High) face each other every year. The game was played on November 2nd at the East LA College Football Field. More than 18,000 people attended this event. We sponsored the VIP tent with food for 100 people and were the Instant Replay sponsor.

Nov 2 2007 >> LAPD - Van Nuys Division Appreciation Day
|
|
The Mid-Valley Community Police Council organizes every year an appreciation day for the LAPD - Van Nuys Division. During this day, the officers are served food by community and business members around the area. It is a day in which the community and businesses thank the officers for all their support .On November 2nd, we sponsored food for 100 officers.
