Woodcraft Rangers Family Literacy Nights travel through out Los Angeles County. At the events, parents have the opportunity to take part in activities that enhance the students' skills, while at the same time serving as a model for activities that can be taken to their homes. On February 28th, we sponsored Family Literacy Night at Beachy Avenue Elementary School. We provided food for 100 people.

Feb 20 2008 >> Garfield High School Truancy Sweep

Garfield High School conducted a truancy sweep on February 20th to ensure that students comply with the California Law and are in school during school hours. Some of the agencies who participated in this sweep are Montebello PD, Monterey Park PD, LA School Police, Probation and Department of Children and Family Services. We donated food for the members of the participating agencies.

Feb 14 2008 >> Berendo Middle School Open House

Pollo Campero works closely with Woodcraft Ranger's Nvision After School Program. On February 14th, Berendo Middle School hosted an open house for students who are interested in signing up for the NVision program. We sponsored the event by providing food for 40 students.

Woodcraft Rangers Family Literacy Nights travel through out Los Angeles County. The purpose of these nights is to promote the idea that parents are key partners in their children's education. On February 14th, we sponsored Family Literacy Night at Hillcrest Elementary School. We provided food for 100 people.

Feb 4 2008 >> Southewast Middle School's PTA meeting

Southeast Middle School is located in the city of South Gate. This school is the first secondary school constructed in the Southeast area in over twenty years. The faculty is reaching out to businesses and community partners to become involve with the students. On February 4th, we sponsored lunch for the PTA meeting.

Feb 1 2008 >> Give Kids a Smile Day
|
We sponsored Give Kids a Smile Day at 10th Elementary School on February 1st. On this day, more than 50,000 dental professionals and volunteers provided free educational, preventive and restorative dental services to children from low income families at more than 2,000 locations across the country. Give Kids A Smile is a national initiative by the American Dental Association to focus attention on the epidemic of untreated oral disease among disadvantaged children. We provided food to the volunteers who visited the elementary school.
